Two events on the same October weekend can ask very different things of your Saturday.
Fall is one of the busiest stretches of the year for events on 30A, and the calendar between now and Thanksgiving has a lot to offer. The formats differ more than the flyers suggest. Some of this fall's biggest "community weekends" are organized around guided tours of specific communities and lodging packages. Others are ticketed evenings built around a film, a cocktail or a car. Knowing which is which helps you decide how to spend a Saturday.
Start with the WaterSound Fall for the Fam weekend, running Friday through Sunday, October 2 through 4, across the WaterSound communities. Friday opens with a welcome reception at WaterSound Town Center, followed by the free, family-friendly First Friday Concert Series at The Pavilion.
Saturday is the touring day. Visitors can tour participating communities including WaterSound Origins, WaterSound Camp Creek, Latitude Margaritaville WaterSound, and WaterSound Fountains. The Minto Matchpoint Pickleball Tournament, which needs its own separate registration, runs the same day, and the evening ends with a bonfire at the private WaterSound Beach Club. Sunday closes things out with the WaterSound Block Party, which brings live music, local food trucks, lawn games, giveaways, face painting and balloon art.
Special lodging rates at WaterColor Inn and The Lodge 30A are also available for people attending the weekend, which makes it easy to turn the three days into a full stay.
Advance registration is required for the weekend, while the First Friday Concert Series is free, so it helps to decide which pieces you want before you sign up. The Friday concert and Sunday block party give the weekend a public rhythm around the Saturday tours.
Alys Beach holds its own October weekend on the same dates, Friday and Saturday, October 2 and 3. Friday's centerpiece is called Torque to Table, and Saturday adds a VIP Tent Experience. Tickets are available for purchase, and both events are for guests ages 21 and older, which makes this an adults-only evening rather than a family festival.
The structure is simple. You buy a ticket, you attend, and the weekend centers on the event itself rather than on a schedule of community tours. Both weekends will appear on the same events list this October, but they ask for different commitments.
| Event | Dates | Location | What It's Actually Built to Do |
|---|---|---|---|
| WaterSound Fall for the Fam | Oct 2 to 4, 2026 | WaterSound communities and Town Center | Community tours on Saturday, with a free Friday concert and a Sunday block party |
| Alys Beach: Torque to Table | Oct 2 to 3, 2026 | Alys Beach | Ticketed weekend for guests 21 and older |
| Bloody Mary Festival | Oct 10, 2026, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | The Market Shops, Miramar Beach | Restaurant and bar tasting competition with panel and People's Choice awards |
| Mountainfilm on Tour | Nov 6 to 7, 2026 | WaterColor Marina Park Amphitheater | Ticketed outdoor documentary film series, now in its 26th year |
| Seaside Farmers Market | Every Saturday, year-round, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Seaside Amphitheater | Standing weekly market |
| Rosemary Beach Farmers Market | Every Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. | Rosemary Beach | Standing weekly market |
Mountainfilm on Tour offers a different format from the WaterSound weekend. This is its 26th year turning a November weekend at WaterColor into an outdoor theater, screening documentary shorts pulled from the Mountainfilm festival in Telluride, with a Mountainfilm presenter on hand each night to give context on the films and filmmakers. This year's dates are Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7, gates at 5:45 p.m., films starting at 7. Tickets are $40 for one night or $70 for the full weekend if you buy before September 30, with prices increasing on October 1. Kids eight and under get in free.
The format is easy to plan around: one ticket, one amphitheater under the pines, and a two-night program of documentary shorts about adventure, environmental preservation and global cultures. Its longevity makes it one of the longer-running fixtures on the fall calendar.
The Market Shops in Miramar Beach run their annual Bloody Mary Festival on October 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with tickets at $65 in advance or $75 at the door if any remain. Area restaurants, bars, and mixologists compete for both a People's Choice vote and a Judge's Choice award, alongside a Best Bloody Accoutrement honor. Catalyst plays the main stage, DJ Dad takes the courtyard, and SEC football runs on the big screen for anyone who wants both.
Restaurants throughout The Market Shops also serve bites and treats, along with craft beer, spiked seltzers, rosé, sparkling wine and a mocktail, so the late morning is built around tasting and voting. A panel of local judges picks the Judge's Choice and Best Bloody Accoutrement winners, while attendees vote for the People's Choice honors.
Underneath the festival weekends sits the standing calendar: the Seaside Farmers Market, every Saturday morning from 9 to 1 at the Amphitheater, running year-round, and the Rosemary Beach Farmers Market, every Sunday from 9 to 1. Both continue on their regular schedule while the festival weekends come and go.
The mornings that are already on the calendar leave room to add one or two of the ticketed weekends. Saturday, October 10 at The Market Shops and the Mountainfilm evenings on November 6 and 7 each have a set time and a ticket, and Mountainfilm's $40 and $70 prices apply only through September 30.
